Operator Algebras in Quantum Computation

چکیده

In the following we discuss how the theory of operator algebras, also called operator theory, can be applied in quantum computer science. From a computer scientist point of view, we will discuss some fundamental results of operator theory and their relevance in the context of domain theory. The theory of operator algebras originated in functional analysis in the 1930s and was extensively applied in mathematical physics, in order to understand the mathematical foundations of quantum mechanics. In the past 15 years, domain theory was successfully applied to quantum computation, for semantics and verification (see [Gay06] for an overview of the literature).

The witness set of coexistence of quantum effects and its preservers

One of unsolved problems in quantum measurement theory is to characterize coexistence of quantum effects. In this paper, applying positive operator matrix theory, we give a mathematical characterization of the witness set of coexistence of quantum effects and obtain a series of properties of coexistence. We also devote to characterizing bijective morphisms on quantum effects leaving the witness...

Algebras and universal quantum computations with higher dimensional systems

Here is discussed application of the Weyl pair to construction of universal set of quantum gates for high-dimensional quantum system. An application of Lie algebras (Hamiltonians) for construction of universal gates is revisited first. It is shown next, how for quantum computation with qubits can be used two-dimensional analog of this Cayley-Weyl matrix algebras, i.e. Clifford algebras, and dis...

Fixed Points of Quantum Operations

Quantum operations frequently occur in quantum measurement theory, quantum probability, quantum computation and quantum information theory. If an operator A is invariant under a quantum operation φ we call A a φ-fixed point. Physically, the φ-fixed points are the operators that are not disturbed by the action of φ. Our main purpose is to answer the following question. If A is a φ-fixed point, i...

Positive Cone in $p$-Operator Projective Tensor Product of Fig`a-Talamanca-Herz Algebras

In this paper we define an order structure on the $p$-operator projective tensor product of Herz algebras and we show that the canonical isometric isomorphism between $A_p(Gtimes H)$ and $A_p(G)widehat{otimes}^p A_p(H)$ is an order isomorphism for amenable groups $G$ and $H$.
